The researcher Sara Figuerola explains the studies on the remodeling of the microvasculature by perivascular macrophages after a stroke which are part of the ENTRAIN CONSORTIUM and the Cerebrovascular Research Group of the IIBB-CSIC, led by Dr. Anna M Planas. Her research activity is funded through a project of the Horizon2020 program of the European Union.
It is an open resource that can be consulted both at a private level and for educational purposes. It starts from a brief and simple explanation of what a stroke is (pathophysiology, causes, epidemiology risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, treatments...) to the mechanisms of permeability of the blood-brain barrier and the involvement of perivascular macrophages in this disease.
