The work, published in Atherosclerosis, shows that the levels of the sLRP1 protein in blood can indicate the risk of cardiovascular disease in people who do not present any symptoms. Healthy participants were from the cohort REGICOR (Registre Gironí del Cor), that has been carrying out an exhaustive follow-up at the cardiovascular level in more than 11,000 people in the counties of Girona for more than 15 years.
