Francesc Artigas, CSIC Research Professor and Director of the Department of Neurochemistry and Neuropharmacology IIBB, has been awarded the ''ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award 2015''.

Prof. Artigas is the first Spanish who wins the prize. The ECNP (European College of Neuropsychopharmacology) is Europe's largest scientific society in the field of Neuropharmacology and Psychiatry, and annually awards the prize to European scientists for their important contributions to the study of the pathophysiology and treatment of mental illness, field Prof. Artigas which is a leading international leader. The ECNP organizes annual conferences that bring together professionals in the field 5000-8000.

The prize includes an invitation to give a plenary lecture at the next congress of the ECNP (Amsterdam, August 29-September 1, 2015) as well as writing a review of field work, to be published in the journal European Neuropsychopharmacology.
