The kick-off meeting for the PRAETORIAN network took place June 11th in Maastricht (Netherlands). The project PRAETORIAN (https://www.praetorian-dn.eu/) aims at training ten doctoral candidates who will collaboratively work to develop novel approaches in precision sepsis patient care, providing new diagnostics and therapeutics to answer an urgent unmet clinical need. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement 101119819.
The groups “Signaling in Cell Damage and Cancer” and “Hemostasis and Immunity” at IIBB will lead two doctoral projects under PRAETORIAN. The project will develop in collaboration with groups at Uppsala, Münster, Paris, and Maastricht Universities and partners from industry and patient associations. During the meeting, we outlined our goals, discussed the research projects, and set the stage for a successful partnership.
